Rep Power: 0 | I jsut found out that my employee is talking to my disty sales rep and purchasing lotions for her and her friends! Wow was I peeved! I called my rep and explained to him that NO one from my store should be placing orders except myself and my manager. He told me that he could give my employees a better discount than he gives me to "promote their tanning". Too bad my employee is selling the lotion to her friends (who are my clients). After my call to my rep, he called my employee and told her that he could not sell to her any more. Apparently my employee came in today (after the call from my rep) and purchased a lotion at employee cost (which is my purchase price from my disty)and told my manager that her friend could not afford to pay full price for lotion and would be selling the lotion to her. Any thoughts on how to control this without taking away the perk of discounted lotions to employees? |

Rep Power: 19 | My employees get to purchase a lotion at 1/2 retail once a month to curb the problem...It's almost impossible to prevent...If they are inclined to be shady they'll find a way to pull it off anyway. |

Rep Power: 68 | Thanks for not revealing the name of the disty whose sales rep made a little boo boo by selling a little product to just anyone for less than he sells it to you for. I'm sure it is a fine, upstanding organization with nothing but your best interests, and the best interests of the industry at heart. |

Rep Power: 19 | Wait...I want the name of the disty, so I can get a better deal than him/her too...always trying to one up the competition...I might be good enough to get a better deal than the one the employee got. |

Rep Power: 0 | Let me get this straight. 1) Your distributor will sell to your employee for a better price than he'll sell to you. 2) Your employee will sell to your customers instead of protecting your business -- the one that provides her a job. 3) You are trying to 'control' this? I'm thinking it's time for a new distributor and a new employee. Maybe the two of them should hook up. They're on the same level as far as ethics go. |
