Employees Bored with Lotion - tanTALK

Currently we carry a few different lines of lotions. Most of the employees sell the Designer Skin (all lines) and for the lower end line we also have Fiesta Sun. Do you have problems with your employees feeling "bored" about the lotions you offer? I had an employee ask me last night if we were going to be getting any new lotions in after the summer and that she was bored with what we offer now. I love the lotions we carry but do any of you change up your lines or just keep the same throughout? I do employee meetings where we talk about the lotions, go over good selling points, etc and I know that summer is just slow but any suggestions?

well i guess no one else has this problem. I feel like my sales are down because they are bored and was just looking for suggestions or ways to change this feeling.

Usually in November the new lotions from manufacturers are previewed. It is an exciting time for the industry. Every year new lotions come out and its fun to see the latest and greatest. This is a common problem for tanning salons, the new stuff comes out and every one is excited, then eventually boredom sets in, but the new stuff will be out soon and the cycle will start all over. In the mean time you could have a product of the week and have your employees focus on that one product and change it up every week. You could make a game of it. Good Luck!

There has to be something out there you havent tried. Just because it isnt new doesnt mean that it not new to you. I know i bash Supre but i still carry some of their products. I just started carrying the flaunt line - we have been doing well with it. Its new to me.

Its about the time.....I am ready for changes... It is time that everyone it detoxing from the busy season...and we need to get them charged up again, have some fun, have a contest !

We change lotion all the time. I am planning on staying with JA as my main line but I am constantly adding a few things from the diffrent lines. Gets employees & customers excited. IMO...switch from DS to JA or Figi & watch your customers get much darker.

We try to have something new available often. We have found that clients like to see and try new. I get bored with the same thing (never let the clients know) and like to try new things, keeps it interesting for everyone. Of course we have products that we do well with and keep

There are certain products that do very well for us that I will probably never let go. But we are always bringing in new. Yes I think that bringing in new products keeps your employees interested and keeps customers buying. Selling lotion and getting cusotmers excited about the results are one of the things I love about working every day!

what lotions do you carry in JA? I do carry Babie, Forman and Forman Tingle but haven't tried any of the other ones. What about FIGI?
