In FL the law states that a tanner must wait 24 hours. Is anyone having problems with customer coming in before the actual 24 hours is up wanting to tan. Do you tell them they will have to wait? Our software enters the time and we are afraid the inspector will see that the client tanned before the full 24 hours is up if we let them tan. What can we do?????

not let them tan. They need to get a job or something if they are that nuts about tanning.

It's the law. Make sure they understand that you are not the ones making that rule up...that seems to be the biggest misunderstanding with that. Make them wait.

Give them the number to your state's health department and let them know they made those rules, talk to them.

I had the same problem with clients coming in to early. They get angry and have a million reasons as to why they must tan NOW! Finally, I put a sign in our lobby and in each room stating:
WE ENFORCE 24 HOURS IT'S THE LAW!!!!! please do not argue with our certified staff...jen-owner
This worked like magic! I haven't heard one client beg to tan early. Not yet...anyway.lol
Sometimes I still get the ugly looks, I just offer them a free massage in the massage chair or simply chill out in the lobby reading magazines. If you offer them something to kill their time, they don't seem as mad about the wait. Unless they are coming in hours before they are allowed, then ****, they are just uneducated about the damage of overexposure! My software has the same feature. It won't allow you to tan a client for 24 hours. However, this feature can be disabled. Abide by the law!

we dont' really have problems with it, our computer keeps track of it as well. Usually it'll pop up must wait 3 mins to tan, or at the most an hour or two. Still not let them tan?

Same issue here..Customers get upset because somehow the other salons get them in....Anyhow I let them know when they sign up with our salon you MUST wait 24hrs and I am not going to pay the 1,000.00 fine the health department wants to charge....

What if you were doing the pen and card way? How would he know then?

Funny how strict the U.S is with tanning but so lax with gun laws. We have no regulations in Canada. *knocks on wood*
