Here is the story.
I went out of town for the weedkend, asked the manager when I left if she wouldnt mind covering or pitching in if the girls needed anything. She said sure no problem. Here on my way home sunday, I talked to 1 employee who said my manager who works saturdays at the shop left her with a 100. bill to open the shop and then left her with 20 towels, yes we dont have a washer or dryer on site. But the girls all agreed they would pitch in while I was gone and would do the towels, my manager knew all she had to do saturday was call one off them. Sunday when my other employee opened she called the manager to say hey you left me with a hundred to open and barely any towels, the manager told her well I dont get paid to do towels. Last pay period I took my managers commission away because I caught her tanning her friends free in the high pressure and spraying them for free too. So she lost that payperiods commission. So now that she couldnt handle the shop while I went out of town do I take her commission away again????

Forget the commission issue. Why is she still your manager?

I agree. Why is she manager? What does she do exactly? This is the one person you should not have problems with.

I agree with all of the above...I am so lucky to have a manager that thinks it's her store...OMG...she's the best...I pay her $8. an hour plus half her BCBS Ins. and she gets great commission and when I am out of town an extra $50. a week or about 10. a day while I am away to do those extra jobs..ie: the bank...towels..etc...And the first time I found her giving MY things away and that also includes free tanning...she's gone...and knows it too...
Good Luck on finding a great new manager...maybe within?? Or give her the largerst warning one has ever received....
Have a great Week...Soo

I have found that once employees have been written up for violating company policy or even a verbal warning they go downhill real fast. She is probably pi$$ed that you took away last months commission so it was payback time when you went out of town. Start looking for a new manager, you won't regret it. Even if she dramatically turns around you are prepared. They also love when they think they have you by the ball$.
