Rep Power: 0 | Does anybody else use Sunlync and have problems with it? It always freezes at the worst time and it always has problems sending the time back to the timer. It is really frusterating because we have to make our customers wait because of it. Anybody else have problems with it? |

Rep Power: 0 | Have over 35 pc's running SL without so much as a glitch. The few that we had were user error. First, I have to say that the tech support is second to nobody. I have a hrd time understanding this post in view of the fact that SL support is very pro-active. As for the timer issues...this could easily be an IP address related issue. We had a similar problem (thinking it was the software) until we changed all our routers address' to "static". If I am over you head then contact your IT guy and have them call SL. Easy solution . I would like to know if you have contacted tech support for these issues, cuz on its worst day with the power dropping, pc's overloaded, all kinds of user error and our IT guy on vacation it still kicks a** over any other software on the market! |

Rep Power: 0 | Gotta agree with Mike, I love our SunLync. I especially love the help I get when I call them with problems. And any problems I've had so far have just been user error like mentioned above. I'd definitely give them a call tomorrow. |

Rep Power: 0 | We're working on our own program, too...Most of the packages have gone to Windows (which I won't use), and those that haven't are not very well written. I looked at one today, for example, that has no tender tracking. It adds up sales, but just gives you one total, no separation of cash, checks, credit cards, etc....Heavy on the tanning features, but light on the general sales and inventory functions... |

Rep Power: 25 | Sunlync support is second to none - a hearty agreement there! Know many others using the program - no problems. Agree with Mike B re. the static address (over my head, but I understand it makes a difference!). And - if you have issues - CALL them! Never found them anything but helpful. Do you have the latest update? |

Rep Power: 20 | We have sunlync as well. It does freeze on the rare occasion, but other than that we have had no issues whatsoever with it. Even when we first started using the programs, we had no problems with data transferring over, timer issues, etc, etc, etc. It's definitely a step up for us from Helios. |

Rep Power: 0 | Just out of curiosity, what version of Winblows are you using? Does it have the appropriate service packs? Remember, there has never been a stable version of Windows put on the market (well, possibly CE, I haven't researched it enough). Some are better than others. Often times application programs are blamed when the fault lies with the hardware or (more often) the OS. If Win decides not to cooperate, it can freeze a specific task, or the whole machine... Do you go blue screen? Or, is it just the SunLync that freezes? Can you just restart the program, or must you reboot the whole machine? Is there any specific error message you see repeatedly? Do you have power protection on you equipment? Those are just a few ideas to start you off with...in the Win systems, there is soooooo much that can go wrong...it's really just a matter of time. That's why I was looking for a DOS program, I've got a DOS network with an OS/2 server that hasn't been "down" or "frozen up" ever. I've had OS/2 tasks hang up (programs we wrote, and not very well), but it never trashes the whole system. My Win2K advanced server on the other hand....well...it performs much better now that it's on a card integrated into my AS/400. As a standalone box, I had the same problems you're having... |
