What are others doing, and what can you do that would be a bit more enticing without giving up the farm? Some here will have you doing free tan weeks and discounting your lotions to the max. Which is great if you can count on a lot of volume to get some $$ and make a profit too. Always look at your market, always! |

Rep Power: 0 | that is a pretty vague request....what are your goals for the promotion? have you been open for awhile and trying to create traffic? Is this a grand opening? Is this a seasonal promotion? What type of budget do you have? How long is a piece of string? |

Rep Power: 20 | How long is actually proper to wait for the grand opening? I've just opened and wanting something to generate traffic for now but have considered on doing a grand opening closer to the summer (june/july) when things are supposed to be slowing down. thought that might give a second boost to carry through. My competitors? what do they do? NOTHING!!!! can't learn from them. MY packages are more and my beds are better actually I probably don't charge enough. I am giving a free tan added to the end of the package or free upgrade to a nother bed 1 for every $10. spent in product. ($20 lotion/2 tans) Small area but more cheap spenders due to my competition only charging about 5 bucks over cost on the lotions. I'm the only salon here but 3 more about 8 miles from me. I've really considered contacting Grip but not sure just how pricey it would be and would it pay itself back? It's finally warmer here yesterday and better today so the tanners should be coming out. At least it's not raining!! |

I found that if I give a salon a variety of samples for free they can then distribute the product as they want (free sample with package purchase or give them out to frequent tanners)and this helps to move product. |

Rep Power: 0 | The place I tan at has "dollar days" about 4-5 times a year where you can buy minutes like 100 minutes for 10 dollars 200 minutes for 20 and on up. They also put there lotions on 15% discount. Seems to work for them. About a week ago they had the special and the wait for a regular bed was 1 hour and 45 minutes |
