Our demos are similiar?? Ha, ha, ha, I wish!! We have a population of 43,686 (2001) down about 4500 since 1996, in the largest City in Canada in area (3,210 sq. Km. - 1,240 sq. Mi.)

Well then your city is bigger and I am sure is more than 68% white. The city I am in is about 1 mile. I am sure within 5 miles of your salon is more potential tanners than my area. But enough about that. Lets get back to our train of thought - Can the small salon survive? I say it can and wouldnt have bought a 10 bed salon if I felt differently. But in order to survive they must advertise. So lets get back to our side conversation which has yet to be answered:

Obviously you have ran promotions that have worked or you wouldnt be here today. Share ONE with us! DWhite needs something for spring. Help her and the other 10,000+ members. HELP! One idea that you did that made you money. Share man, share!

P.S. sizzle, you are just as off topic as the rest of us ~ Topic: Can the small salon survive.

It matters what your 3 mile is and 5 mile depending on market. If you own your town then you can generate serious business. Tanu01 is in a population similar to yours and he has three stores! I only like bigger markets but I have been amazed at numbers I have heard of from smaller towns....I think Hank is right you just act like your town is bad you are probably doing 800,000 from your locationg and you are not giving it up!

"Well then your city is bigger"

.....in area, yes. Believe me, you have to see this to believe it. I have talked to many other business owners in this town, and we all have come to the same conclusion, it's a strange place to do business.

I answered the question - I think a small salon can survive and I gave helpful insights on how. I also gave 2 promotions my salon DID that worked well for US. Come on Neon, throw us a bone! Give up one idea that you did that made you profits. I am sure your competition know about it because if they are like me they have a folder of other peoples ads. So give up the info! Pretty please with a cherry on top.

If its an old promotion they know about it already because it happened. I am not asking what you are doing next month. Throw us some scraps!

I have competition on here...I talk about the past. Has anything worked for anyone in the past for Spring? If we can't share ideas on here what is the point.
