I agree, what other offers have you done that were successful? I would like something for Spring...and I can't think of anything different

Well Allan I will admit your "marketing" resume far outweighs mine, and if I had a population of 1,000,000 then free tan days, weeks, and months might just work here, but that is not the case, and probably why we don't have a Mercedes, Lexus or Audi dealership. No market.

As a Mod, I'm not here to promote and agree with what may not work in all markets and that's all I'm saying.

A free tan weekend here will make for good weekend sales, but then once I've sold to everyone possible in three days, at big discounts, who do I sell to for the next month or two?

Exactly Genius. We agree once more. I cant stress how much salon owners should look at the calendar and plan marketing programs around certain times of year. Do it now. Do not wait unil the busy season is over. Grab onto something and get it going. I know that sometimes running successful promotions arent easy. If they were everyone would be a business owner. Make lists of step by step What To Do's and put deadlines for each step. When you are done, mark it off and move onto the next. When you break down something that seems difficult into small easy to handle chunks, things get easy. Make goal lists for each event. Network on here.

Okay great we all have said the same thing ...how about ideas?

sizzlestan 02-27-2005 08:38 PM

Neon, I never once said I had a better marketing background. You have been in business alot longer than I. Obviously you have ran promotions that have worked or you wouldnt be here today. Share ONE with us! DWhite needs something for spring. Help her and the other 10,000+ members. HELP! One idea that you did that made you money. Share man, share!

Curious?

Does your local donut shop have free donut day?
Does your local car wash have free car wash day?
Does your local bowling alley have free bowling day?
Does your local pool have free swimming day?
Does your local pizza joint have free pizza day?

APRIL FOOL promo bring in a friend that's signs up for a membership. And get X. I will be running this.

sizzlestan 02-27-2005 08:50 PM

Neon, we are done discussing the FTW. Anyone who has ever read a few of your posts know you hate it. Lets move on. The local Honda dealership where I bought my new Pilot SUV gave me 2.9% APR and $5,000 cash back. Does that mean I should offer that to my clients? Compare apples to apples.

Obviously you have ran promotions that have worked or you wouldnt be here today. Share ONE with us! DWhite needs something for spring. Help her and the other 10,000+ members. HELP! One idea that you did that made you money. Share man, share!

Thats cool....has it worked for you? Is it too difficult? What limits do you set on it? Do they have to spend x for them to get anything?

sizzlestan 02-27-2005 08:54 PM

And this just in - Demos for Sizzles Area
1 mile 11,325 people 3 mile 76,742 5 mile 174,836 68% white average income 42k. So you see we are in similar demos.

Add in this and maybe we are not: 6 salons within a short drive. 3 of them megasalons. We have 11 beds.

FTW worked here. Twenty Tans for $20 worked here. High school papers worked great. Grip Marketings' buddy passes worked great to attract new clients.

Making rent, payroll, insurance, utilities and profit every month we are open.
