Rep Power: 113 | So one of the springs broke while this girl (who has been a regular since 2001) was tanning and she freaked, I mean FREAKED out. My brother was working and he called me at home and said maybe I should come up there. I asked him what's going on first and when he told me....I told him to tell her it was only a spring, she was never in any danger and that I would add a session or two back on to her package. Her husband was tanning in the next room and he had to break into the room to "save" her. She finally left without me going up there that night. I called her the next day to explain again that I'm so sorry it happened while she was in the bed, it was just the spring, that she was never in any danger, bla, bla, bla. She has just purchased a 16 visit package and she wanted her money back because, and I quote "I will just never feel safe coming back into your salon. I'm still shaking. I am so upset I couldn't go in to work today." WHAT??? Are you freakin kidding me!!! Okay I realize when a spring breaks, it is a loud sound, but COME ON. NOTHING actuallyhappened to her! Okay thanks for reading. Just had to vent |

Rep Power: 107 | I have that same thing happen here, not a spring, but a pivot bolt, actually the same client in two different beds. ~yikes~ I then went out and bought Grade 9 bolts for all the units. Not going to happen again. Re-assure them that these things happen, beyond your control, give them a free tan or two, and it will be done with........ Oh, smile to cover up your shock! |

Rep Power: 21 | Hopefully, she'll calm down. Whether you think she's over the top (which I think she is) doesn't matter. To her, it's a real fear. I'd refund her remaining sessions but credit a couple of sessions to her account that she can use if she changes her mind. And, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. |

Rep Power: 20 | She had probably just watched the 20/20 or 60 Minutes show where the facials glass cracked during a tan and the girl ended up getting like a dozen surgeries to repair the burnt skin. People remember those stories - I know I did and I am a salon owner. The girl described the noise as a loud pop and didnt think anything of it at the time. That night her face got 3 times its normal size. Over the next month she stayed in the hospital and eventually her face was so swollen she looked like 3 basketballs combined. Crazy images on that show. All negative towards tanning. |

Rep Power: 0 | i used to work at a salon in college & WE had a bed catch on FIRE with a client IN IT - ! that is cause for freaking out, not a little spring - ! sounds like she overreacts regularly if her husband was up & over there to 'save' her!! |
