When I read your post this morning I about fell out of my chair. I want all my competition to read your post and think thats what they should do.

We all know that Twenty Tans for $20 and FTW's suck and do nothing for your salon and its members. Its all a waste of time. Twice as much work for the same amount of money. Isnt that right? Or was it Three times the work for the same cash? I forget.

Think outside the bed sometimes! Don't do what everyone else is doing. Be different. Create a buzz! Cause a stir. After all, do you really want to be like the rest or do you want to STAND OUT!

I am sorry for the sarcasim, but advertising to me is like breathing. It is frustrating on this site at times because there are salon owners who think if they just open their doors....they will come!
I have seen posts where salon owners will argue about direct mailing their database, and say "direct mail does not work" that is impossable. If you cannot get a great response from direct mailing your database then you have the wrong offer in the market.

Okay, I did a poll today and 68% used lotion and I went through yesterday's and 80% did that I know of for sure. Yep, totally unrelated to the original post.

I believe industry average is only 30% of our clients use lotion.

Try - only 20% use lotion according to our polls of salon owners actual physical sales. Coupled with selling more to the same group of 'super customers', somewhere between 20-30% of retail sales come from lotions.

We're working on "why" this is commonplace and the best "what" we can do about it to boost sales, and the best "when" to do it.
