Do you have a salon manager or do you do it yourself? Understandably in a larger salon or multiples you would have to have someone but I am referring to a small to medium sized salon?

We tried a salon manager, but I'm a control freak and I have to everything done a certain way. We are a small salon and I don't think I could have someone else manage the salon. This is my baby.

Does your manager do everything with salon day to day operations such as ordering, hiring, firing? How much control do you retain?

No managers, all employees can open, close and run daily operations. We give them the responsabilities needed to run the salon without someone looking over their sholder, and as long as they manage their time to clean, sell and handle the customers we only need to acknowlege the great job they are doing.

I am a control freak myself. But have given alot of responsibilities to my daughter, who is our Manager. I do all the hiring/firing/repromanding. Gotta try and keep it in the family.

Too small as well. More like sbtan, with everyone doing a great job.

I manage a 31 unit salon and before that 18 units. Boss has several different businesses. He pretty much leaves me alone but i do check with him on major purchases. I take all financial things to a accountant he uses here in town.
