Rep Power: 20 | I am going to be running a quarter page ad in this county Wedding Guide. Cost is $400 for 130,000 homes. I need : (a) A catchy phrase to be at the top and (b) A cannot miss special. Please ONLY respond if you have done these ads before. Proven ads are what I need or at least something you know went well for another salon owner. I need this done by Tuesday so POST AWAY my fellow salon owners. |

The ad-exec should be available to help you with this ad- design (ask to look through their available art or bring some clips of your own) and copy writing and at least one proof and change prior to ad running. Get their terms on how many times you are allowed to change the ad. Go through some wedding mags and find some headlines that you like. Are you promoting a special wedding package? Is this a playful ad to lighten the stress of planning the wedding or do you want to display a service oriented ad? Maybe something like "Plan Ahead, Tan Ahead" and outline some packages you have for brides (just be sure not to exclude those that are planning their tans last-minute- offering tan consulting for those short on time?)or "Your Professional Wedding Tanner" (playing on "wedding planner") and include a special for the mothers of the bride and groom/bridesmaids/groom and groomsmen as well... You really should be able to consult with the ad-exec or design team, bringing your specials and creating an ad around them- you should also be able to get some re-runs of the same ad at a discount and a printed copyable print of the ad that you can make fliers from... |

Rep Power: 0 | Yeah, hoping that they have a marketing degree, is all. For $400 (I was an ad-exec in my past career) my clients expected some work out of me! Good luck, let us know what you came up with- special sections are always FUN! Remember- ALOT of women, not just new brides, will read the bridal specials... One more hint, many times they are unable to fill all ad space and would rather run another ad (even at a discounted price) than have to put an AP story in there. Let your ad-exec know that you would possibly be interested in running the ad twice in the magazine should there be extra space... many times they are only a few hundred dollars away from that bonus and you can get the ad for down to as little as 1/4 of the price- so for possibly $500 your full size ad is displayed twice and THAT will get new clients' attention "Did I just see that?" Go het 'em, Tiger! |
