The busy season is just around the corner. Right now we do a team monthly goal, if we hit the goal our employees receive $25 bonus for that month. Thr problem with that is, if one employee does better then the other, it is not fair. It seems in order to get employees to sell an added commission might help...
Any Ideas?

I do my individualy. I just changed mine from 5% on lotions to a certain % on total sales depending on what level their sales are. What software are you using?

Sunease. With a 5% commision did they only get the commission if you hit your monthly goal for the salon?

No, I gave it to them no matter what, that is why I changed it. Now they have to hit a minimum total sales in order to get commission. Makes them work harder to sell everything, not just the products.

Dudette, we have the same problem. Some girls work more hours than others, some work during the busier part of the day than others. So, we asked the question about commission during last month's meeting. Luckily our girls said that they would rather get free VHR sessions, tanning shirts, or our company jackets instead of money. Lucky for us.

we give 5% on lotion bottle sales. As of Jan. 1 we set a minimum LPPA to receive the 5% commission, (the minimum LPPA we set is very low so no reason they wont get it). Also added 2 or 3 different ways they can have their commission doubled to 10%.

We already give our employees free tans and a bottle of lotion every other month. I need a fun way to get them motivated. caribbean, you have a monthly meeting? What do the meeting pertain to?

Our girls get free tanning in our base beds. The VHR sessions are half price for them. Their lotions are always 25% off. Yeah, our monthly meetings are a blast. It gets the girls together and they are always roaring with questions on how to do better. This past month, I let them know what their sales goals are for 2005 and showed them that they met and exceeded their sales goals for last year without them even knowing they had a sales goal. They are more aware of what they are doing now. It's also motivational. I pick a subject that seems that they can improve on (their ownership attitude, building customer relationships, etc.) Product sales is a major issue here and every month, they feel better and more confident that they can sell. Our profits are rising little by little. Last month we exchanged gifts and celebrated one girls birthday. And they get paid for the meetings.
