Well, the other day I was telling you guys in the "Getting Employees to Do Something" thread about the girl I work with being lazy and irresponsible. Well, tonight the owner is firing her without having a replacement for her. So...guess what! I am going to work 7 days a week, 12 hour days. The problem? I have a 4 year old son that is a blessing to me, and a husband that I adore. Season is almost here for us, and I am going to be all by myself!!! HOW do I cope?

The real world is this...I have a homelife, too...a homelife I actually enjoy. First of all, let me define my priorities to you, top250tansyou, 1.) God 2.) Family 3.) Work.

I think you need to have a talk with the owner. You should not be expected to work the busy season alone. You also have a life outside of the salon.

You just cope Maybe the owner will be understanding in letting your family come see you, maybe have dinner with you when it's not busy of course. Maybe you have a room in back they can stay while visiting you? I guess as long as they aren't in the way of you doing any business, what harm is there? Hey you are working 7 days, 12 hours that's the least I'd do for my employee. Family is important! Money won't replace them.

Talk to your employer,tell them your concerns,offer to help them in any way to find another employee, offer to help train. I'm sure they will understand. Hopefully this situation won't last long.

talk to the owner and tell him/her they need to get someone else in there. you can't do it all by yourself. if they won't then demand more money or find a 9-5 job. i'm in the same situation tanshopgrl!!

tanshopgrl ...didnt u make a comment on that post about taking both paychecks since you do both jobs?
maybe your complaints on this forum is what convinced your supervisor to fire this girl
did you think another employee would fall out of the sky to magically replace one?? how old are you??
what does it take to make you happy? obviously your manager is doing all they can to remedy the situation
to make YOU happy....im sure they are looking for a replacement...or maybe not maybe they figure that since you werent happy with someonelse there you would be happier all by yourself...did you honestly think they would listen to you complain and then just wait around to find
someone else? you wanted the employee out...the employee is out...now you have to pick up the slack until that employee is replaced...and the problem is????
