Rep Power: 51 | Yet another person using an outdoor spray oil. I had asked him every time if he was okay for lotion. Today, thank gawd, only the stand up was open when he came. Then I heard the "squirtsquirtsquirtsquirt". When he came out I asked him if he used lotion today, he said yes and I asked if it was indoor lotion, he said yes again and I asked to see it. Panama Jack OIL! That's the second person with that same bottle. Luckily the other guy was going in the stand up that day too. Apparently nobody reads my nicely framed and hung signs stating NO OUTDOOR LOTION!! Arrrrgggg! It's like babysitting! |

Rep Power: 21 | When we suspect this, oil noticed when cleaning, we leave a comment to ask to SEE their lotion and show them the outdoor lotion and not let them take it back with them. When they leave saying the other salon lets me I say "well this is my salon and equip that I want to maintain to best of my ability" His couple dollar tan is not worth the cost of acrylic replacement. |

Rep Power: 23 | Tonight in the clean up of the rooms... In one of my rooms I have a small table with a skirt on it. (I store paper towels under it.) As I was vacuuming the edges of the room, I lifted the skirt...to get behind the table. I seen a out door bottle of crap(spray OIL even!!) I threw it away. Being that I clean the rooms nightly... well most salons do...But I also put the paper towels on the shelves under the table this morning. That leaves one person... a new client. the nerve! I had only 5 newbies today. During the tour I discuss lotions and show them 'the cannot use here' list. usually after asking if they brought their lotion. Anyhooo 4 of the newbies bought lotion...The one that did not-- because she had put hers on at home. (so she claims) Just so happened to go in that bed. Well, it was a new bottle and was thrown away. She will not be happy when she comes back to find it gone. I seriously doubt it was anyone else. I went through the list of tanners that used that bed today. Maybe old salon she was at did not super clean the rooms nightly...but she found out we do. So now she can A. not use crap in my salon...and maybe buy some real lotion. I do not care if it is not from me.JUST respect the salons policy-- NO friggen outdoor oils in my salon. B. be angry and never come back... if so--sobeit. C. by a nother one and put it on at home..hopefully she will ruin her cloths-- instead of my acylics. or D. ask me where her lotion went... and I will say "what lotion? Remember-- you put it on at home. Besides, I did not see you bring any in... Would you like a sample today?" _________________ Jane... Rep Power: 51 | Okay, it's one thing to sneak it in but then to HIDE it!!! I even told that guy that Walmart had cheapy indoor lotion so he didn't think I was just trying to make a sale. So there was no immediate damage to your acrylics? I wasn't sure if it got ruined in one tan or if it was over a period of time. |

Rep Power: 23 | I keep my acrylics highly polished...this helps prevent and immediately damage from anything..including that outdoor crap. It is not a total prevention of damage..but it helps. When I went in to clean the bed...I noticed she had even cleaned her own bed. Hmm nothing unusual for NEW clients there are quite a few salons around me that make teh clients do this. I just cleaned it myself...and made a memo under her name to remind her WE clean the beds she does not have to ..to remind the staff to tell her that the next time she comes in. However, after I found The Bottle O' Crap ...It was clear why she did that. Thinking nooo...knowing I might detect the slimmy crap she sprayed all over herself. More then Likely that is a the case.if she does not move on to a salon who does not do nigtly cleaning... I will simply remove the spray cleaner from her room when she comes in to tan. I clean the beds after usage and often twice..I like to clean the beds in front of the clients getting in the bed. I know I have OCD's.. lol But my clients love that about me. So If she uses crap again..I will call her on it. PS keep your acrylics Highly polished and the oils will not seep into the pores and will pool on the surface. Besides I like my beds to have acrylics that are feel soft and smooth and look very shiny. (that is my OCD coming out again) The oil users are found out rather quickly that way. In light of this thread and the more I think about it... I might just remove the cleaners from all the rooms. Do you leave the Disinfectant Spray Bottles in your rooms? _________________ Jane... Rep Power: 20 | Neon did a post with a list of all lotions that are acceptable in the beds. Take a look at it it is really great. Post it in every room and on your counter. This way clients know you really mean business. |

Rep Power: 24 | I just had a similar incident with a client. The girls told me she was using something that was tough to get off the acrylic. She came in yesterday and I asked her what lotion she was using. NO-AD sunblock. WHAT???? I took the bottle. Mineral Oil!! I explained that it will ruin my acrylic and that it is bad for your skin. She always has to tan 20 min, but has no color. SPF15 may cause that. I told her we need to cut her time back, because she cannot use that lotion. She will find another spf that doesn't contain the mineral oil or will just use the standup. Kinda dumb if you ask me. Where do these people come from? |

Rep Power: 51 | MJ - What do you use polish the acrylics? I have the 2 differenct scratch removers. Or is it something else. I keep the spray behind the counter and take it in to clean the rooms. I don't want people to think they have to clean it. |
