This past season,and even now it seems like
tanners are buying more single upgrades than
lower monthly packages, A trend ?

Upgrades you say. I have a single upgrade bed. A few more lamps with a facial. Previously I hade only one bed with a facial lamp, and it was booked solid during peak season. Now I have the "Superbed" with facial so I ccan book them in that one and they still get the facial right? Nope, they would rather wait a day or two for the regular facial bed than pay the 2 bux?!?!?! And some of you get $8 upgrades, I wish!

I do see more people buying singles this time of year, but go with a points system and they don't have to pay UPGRADE singles... One package fits all levels...

Only don't be cheap with it, get your top $ so we all can.

Just a small example for you:

Each level has a pt. value, ie. level 1 10pts., level 2 15 pts and so on.
Customer purchases a pkg. of 100 pts. They tan in level 1 today, it takes off 10pts. Next time they want to use an upgrade bed, it takes off 15pts and they do not have to pay an upgrade fee out of pocket... they just use up their pts. faster

Ever since I broke the $10/visit in my Ovation it's the most popular WALK IN buy PLUS tanning sample. $15-$20/visit is the BEST. (these people get their arses kissed)

I've just opened my new salon a few days ago. I have a version of "points" - Simple concept but easy to screw up the explanation. I have it worked out that the points can be used for upgrades with the monthly package as well. People are then buying both plus lotion. One lady spent $240 without batting an eye. I love the people here. The area is not as well to do as my other store but these people want to spend their money. Almost everyone is interested only in the upgrades! They aren't lining up outside the door yet but I think some are using up packages elsewhere or waiting for payday. (or maybe still waiting for us to open - we were really behind)
