Rep Power: 0 | When I go out to lunch or go shopping and I see a person who is an obvious tanner I like to ask them where they tan. I introduce myself and ask them to try my salon for a first time free visit. They always ask me my monthly price which is sometimes higher than where they currently go. Normally I will say well for the first month I will meet the competitions price just to get the tanner to my place. Does anyone see any problems with this. Is it a good or bad thing? |

Rep Power: 20 | I have also been out and a lot of time people will ask me about my tan and I tell them I have a salon. That starts the conversation and then I usually give them my business card and tell them to come over and try my beds and I will give them a free tan. I don't see any problem with offering to beat the competitions price as long as you are out casually like you were saying. I think if you were standing on your competitions street corner and trying to lure their customers away would be a different story. |

Rep Power: 22 | Its a good thing to do that...I carry pens with me, which is better than any business card and if we get into the conversation about the whole tanning deal, I normally will see them within a week. I say we are our own walking billboards...brag about it |

Rep Power: 28 | We will meet or Beat our competitors offers to gain business. Once they tan here and see what we have to offer as far as price/cleanliness/equipment they sign up. We are offering now a tour package: 1 session in each bed for only $25 (three levels, Sundash 232,Sunstorm,Sungate) and if they buy a package we give them one free (new clients only, one time) |

Rep Power: 20 | dcijjp2..Thats a great idea, I think I'm gonna incoprorate that with my hvlp spray. I only have two tanning styles to choose from Suntstarzx32 and sundomeXL48.. I will have to adjust the price, or just do a facial tan spray. |

Rep Power: 29 | I tell them that McDonalds sells "hamburgers" for 69cents or you can goto the 99resturant and pay $8. If you are looking for a 69cent hamburger, then BY ALL MEANS visit the competition. NOW, if it's only like 10-15% difference then match the price OR if they are looking for a tanning lotion, take it out of that. CHEAP ASSES ARE ALWAYS FOR THE PRICE. They'd rather lie in dog feces if it'll save them 25 cents in the SHORT TERM. You don't want these clowns anyway. |

Rep Power: 21 | The thing to worry about discounting to the competitions prices would be: If you can let me tan cheaper once and "they" only charge $X, you should only charge $X. We offer "better" so it costs this much, period! |
