Happy Birthday Discounts.... - tanTALK

Has anyone ever done any Birthday discounts...if so what did you do and how was the turn out. I was thinking about doing a happy birthday postcard with 20% off any package. With tan track you can find out whos birthday is in a month and thats what I was going to use. Anyone have any success with this or is this idea stupid?

Helios lets you know it's a client's birthday if they come in on their birthday. We give the customer a free upgrade to the next level of their package that day.

Today is my birthday, I'm 26, just thought I'd announce that and here seemed like a good place.

Happy Birthday. We sent out postcards with 15% off. Got a decent response. Not great. Last month we sent out actual birthday cards with a FREE TAN in our BIG BED and just told them what our current special was. GOT 1 BACK!! Guess I need to get a hold of grip.

When a customer comes in and helios tells you it's their b-day and you say "happy birthday" .....they love you!
It only happened once but she loves me now, i'm sure of it, although she hasn't come back since. J/K
but that really is a cool feature

We have suntouch and it reminds you if it's someones birthday also. Yes, I also say Happy Birthday...and the client gets that wide eyed look like they are in shock. I give them a free upgrade to the next level also. I'd like to start mailing birthday cards but not sure what is a good offer to make that has a good response back.

I too have TanTrack and have done Birthday mailings for the past 2 months. My response rate is 10-15%. My offer is a free tanning lotion sample on their next visit. Expires 10 days after birthdate and is non-transferrable. I haven't added any special "birthday" deal on them yet, but plan to on my November cards. It is great to wish someone a happy birthday when they come in and are not expecting it. On occassion, I will give that person a free sample right them if they are a loyal tanner.

well the good news is, on my birthday i get to spend it here, at my salon, talking to all you wondereful salon owners and managers, and by the amount of posts today i can tell business is booming everywhere.

Yep. The offer wasn't irresistible enough. To dramatically improve results, dramatically improve your offer.
