Rep Power: 21 | Hi All, With the word "holidays" starting to pop up in conversations, it started me thinking about how does everyone decorate there salons for the holiday season? I mean do you go full blown xmas theme, or do you keep with the generic "Happy Holidays" theme to keep from offending people from different religious backgrounds??? |

Rep Power: 0 | I tend to decorate with a winter theme only, so it lasts longer into the winter months with out all that instant re-do after the holiday. I do it sparingly w/ focus on retail items & Gift certificates all wrapped up elegantly W/bags, box's ect. What will you do? |

Rep Power: 21 | I just found some lighted palm trees that are 4 foot tall from JCPenneys catalog....I thought that would make a cute xmas tree....then I found some cute Tropical Santa Ornaments through Terry's Village catalogs...trying to arrange a tropical xmas scene. |

Rep Power: 23 | I decorate the salon with a christmas tree that has lotion packettes that hang from it versus ornaments and then I allow the customers to pick one off the tree and I use tons of snowmen in my decorating. When sending out holiday cards I always get ones that say Happy Holidays instead of Merry X-Mas, etc. |

Rep Power: 0 | We have multiple cultures in our area, so are careful not to offend. Happy Holidays suffices at the salon, with a bowl of goodies laid out and a few non-descript decorations. My housemate immigrated with her family at a very young age, and we celebrate both of our customs. In November we celebrate the Thai harvest at the full moon with paper boats, candles, going to the shrine and then the park to float the paper boats, and flowered candles. The first time I saw people giving thanks and saying prayers and floating candle lit boats in the dark on the pond, I cried because it was so graceful and charming. In turn, my housemate and I will celebrate the new year on December 23rd (winter soltice) with presents, pagen ornaments on our evergreen and St. Nick (while watching for the evil Crampus to leave chunks of coal in my stockings of course!) My son and his wife will celebrate Christmas at their church, and at home sing a Christmas Tree. But, in the salon, it's all just Happy Holidays. |
