Rep Power: 0 | Neither. If at all possible, concrete glazed flooring, or painted concrete. Cheaper/easier care than carpet/tile. Also, carpet fibers get sucked into tanning beds, and go everywhere..lotion spills etc. Draw back on tile, simply as you said; slips and falls. Concrete has traction. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: studio 102 on 2004-09-09 04:48 ] |

Rep Power: 0 | We have Tile in our first Salon, only issue with it is I went with a very bright lighter type of tile, so keeping it and the grout clean is a constant pain in the ***, as for my second salon I went with a Stained Concrete floor in the second salon, biggest draw back there was that the concrete is older so it's not as pretty or even as I would like it to be, it saved me about $8000 though (based on the first salon), it would have saved me more like $10k if I decided to tile the second salon because of the ammount of cuts, etc. |

Rep Power: 0 | The painted concrete fits that salon, we have Diamond Plating everywhere and it's very industrial looking overall, the customers always comment on it, and they love it. Which makes me love it because I get to save another $10k on the next salon I open, I figure after saving $10k for 10 Salons my 11th Salon will be free |

Rep Power: 21 | I have ceramic tile. I love it - it mops up easily which is great in sloppy weather or when customers dump lotions. It costs more initially than carpet but doesn't need to be replaced every few years. It doesn't hold odors and looks as good today as it did 5 years ago. The beds don't get clogged with lint so they are easier to maintain and lamps last longer. The painted concrete sounds intriguing but I'm sure it would depend on the state of the concrete...ours was pretty bad |

Rep Power: 21 | I wouldn't use full carpeting, you need to keep it clean, however I do use small area rugs in the room for the customeers to stand on. The small bathroom type are not to expensive and I rotate them out to clean. |
