Rep Power: 25 | Or just sell it??? The State of Iowa requires each client to have their own eye protection. We have carried it over to our Illinois salon and do not provide loaner eye protection. We also encourage clients to use disposable since they are more sanitary. But we do sell alot of reuseable also. But remember (quoting from Brenda) to remind your customers that their eye protections should be treated like a toothbrush, kept in a ziplock baggie, cleaned frequently and replaced periodically. A great way to make some extra money and less issues to deal with sanitizing and providing it to clients. |

Rep Power: 0 | Our state law requires we provide it...but, I was told recently not necessarily for free. We figure it into the cost of our packages and all new clients get their own, a baggie and a sharpie to write their name on it. We have alphabetized cabinets that they can store them in. Walk-in single visit clients get disposables. |

Rep Power: 28 | Always check your state's law. But here we only have to provide (for sell). When we first got into the biz, we provided for free. Laid them on the bed with the sanitized sign. Once we quit providing for free, I was amazed at the number of people that didn't use them. Providing from the front counter, whether selling or for free is the best way to educate the client on the reasons to use it. |

Rep Power: 0 | We automatically ask to see everyone's eyewear before they go into the room. If they say they don't have any or don't use it, we give them winkease and tell them that state law requires that we see them go into the room with eyewear. Then I show them the ugly eye posters from Eye Pro. Some are convinced, some are not. |

Rep Power: 24 | WE only provide eye wear when you forget yours.I heard of a salon that provided eye wear and because they did not sanitize them properly everyone got pink eye, I don't want this responsibility. |

Rep Power: 21 | I provided eyewear for a few years - some people bought their own anyway. But, I found dozens of pairs went walking, especially just before spring break! I got tired of handing out free eyewear and now require everyone to have their own. I still have a couple pair I loan to folks using the standup who don't have the type with strings. Occassionally, I will loan these to regular bed users who have forgotten them but keep track to make sure they are not abusing the privelege and just to cheap to buy some. My new store will not provide anything free. |

Rep Power: 20 | Wow! you learn something all the time on this website. This is from our Health Dept. § 145.005. CUSTOMER NOTICE; LIABILITY. (a) A tanning facility shall give each customer a written statement warning that: (1) failure to use the eye protection provided to the customer by the tanning facility may result in damage to the eyes; I understood this that I had to provide eyewear and I do. I have a goggle tank set up and we change the solution daily and record that. I guess it's all in the state you are in. Honestly it is a pain in the butt, This is the way we started out and everyone is used to doing this. I do provide winkease also for free. I also sell goggles or the sun peepers to those that prefer using their own all the time. |

Rep Power: 22 | We provide it to be purchased and if they dont want to do they can purchase winkease. I dont give them away anymore, havent since my second year..people like to take them and not return them. Tus, all you have to do is change the rule, everyone will understand, my clients did, no one had a problem with it. I have made alot of money off of goggles and winkease. I say "to be in business is to make the rules" |
