Rep Power: 0 | As everyone probably knows, I have two assistant managers who are "built in" so to speak. One hired two of her friends, one of the friends is definately going to work out, the other I'm still deciding. Not only does my ASSISTANT try to tell me what to do, but I was hired to change things, and when I do, I get a call on my cell with her saying "I came in and everything is changed!" How do I explain to the owner, who has worked with her for a few years that she isn't working out the way he thinks? I have already confronted him about her letting her friends break the rules while I am not there, but if I am going to change and make his business better there is no way I will be able to do it with her screaming at me like she is my boss. Is there an easy way to get her to leave? |

Rep Power: 0 | I can't fire her...she is tight with the owner, that is why she is still there. With school starting today, there is no way I could have done anything. He said later we can "weed" out the bad ones and that she and I would get together to do that, she is the bad one. The situation is that she has been there, and is EXTREMELY good friends with the manager of the other salon, this is where my problem lies. If I "step" on the other managers feet, I'm the one that is out of line. |

Rep Power: 0 | if there is no way this person will leave, then you should look for another job. Your stress level is obviously high and that is because you feel powerless. Search for a better job. If your boss appreciates your value as an employee, they will make the necessary changes. If not, the job was not for you to begin with - find something new and you will be happy again. |
