Rep Power: 0 | What is the smallest salon, (# of beds, not sq ft)you know of, which is operating successfuly. I am astonished, as I read on the sites that there are many salons with 4-5beds. I had no idea they could survive as such. |

Rep Power: 25 | I know of a salon in a very rural community that has just one bed. I have visited it and it is attached to her house but she has a nice bed with a pretty good lotion display for her size. She has tax id numbers and is smart tan certified. That is all that the very small community will support. |

Rep Power: 0 | I am a 4 bed salon as of right now. I am in the process of getting 2 more units ASAP. I've been open since the end of August and I already have the need for more equipment. I'm up to 380 clients or somewhere close to that. I am Smart Tan certified, and so is my employee. It's a requirement of my salon that every employee be Smart Tan certified. I have raised the standard in my city on what a tanning salon should offer customer service wise, and people love the atmosphere and how clean we keep it, and the beds rock! So, I think I'm doing quite well. Hopefully within a year to a year and a half I'll be ready to open another salon!! |

Rep Power: 23 | I have a 4 bed salon,...soon to be 6 in the next few weeks. My current customer base is around 2000+(these are our clients from past 2 yrs since we have owned the salon) and I have had 5 new customers this week already! Our community population is 3000+ and growing, we also have several rural communities around us within 15 miles. I work 75 % of the time. I believe we have grown very rapidly over the past 2 years because of ISEI & SMART TAN training. Loving our customers enough to make sure they know how to tan(educating them on the process) making sure they are using lotion and after tan moisturizers and I keep my monthly specials fresh and fun. Also, having customers on e-mail list has been great "PR". |

Rep Power: 21 | We are a 6 unit salon and NTTI certified. We are also a training and testing site for NTTI. We have plans of possibly expanding into the building next door to have 14 units total, or possibly opening a branch across town. Right now, we are waiting on my mom to have 2 more surgeries on her knee before we make any concrete plans. |

Rep Power: 0 | I know of a salon downtown that has 6 beds and is struggling. The problem comes when rush hour hits and 80% of their customers want to tan within 2 hours. The rest of the day they can accomodate but I fear they lose most of their clients by being too small. |

Rep Power: 21 | We have 4 units and opened in April. I am adding a stand up next month and adding on a bed or two this year and will grow with the customers demand! This way I don't over extend myself. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: sunsationaltan on 2003-12-08 08:22 ] |
