Rep Power: 23 | The rep from the yellow pages just stopped in the renew my contract and set things up for the next release of the phonebook... How many of you use the yellow pages to advertise your salon and do you think it attracts many new customers... I have been doing it for 2 year now and so does every other salon in town, when I checked my referal report only a small percentage says they here via the yellow pages, most is from word-of-mouth and other coupons that I offer...what about the rest of you...Do you use them or Not? Thanks! |

Rep Power: 27 | yellow pages are very expensive, yet, look from your own perspective, when you look for something in the yellow pages does not the biggest, brightest ad pop out at you. make sure you include something in your ad THAT NO ONE ELSE DOES, they all look the same, "new bulbs, and pictures of sun's or palm trees, if your gonna spend the bucks...make sure your different. (yeah we spend 400 bucks a month on yellow pages) |

Rep Power: 0 | We pay mega bucks too for the advertisement but it is worth the expense - In our area the sooner you advertise the better the spot they put you in - I love the top right corner and usually get it because I do a bus. card size adv with 3 colors and like Shantilly said do say something different - do your homework and keep it clear and simple - I get a really good response |

Rep Power: 22 | I do not pay for a big ad in the yellow pages. It is in the listing for free. From surveys I have done, people look at the listings, not the ads when shopping for a tanning salon, and they go down the list and call each one for prices. Not unless you are putting a coupon of some sort you are wasting money. |

Rep Power: 0 | We do two different yellow page books and we don't go for the "big" ads we do column ads. This will appear in the alpha listing but it singles the ad out by displaying it in a box. We also run a coupon in the coupon section and besides our direct mail that is the biggest coupon return we have. |

Rep Power: 21 | I think the ads with boxes are great - not too expensive, but still set apart from the others. I know that I personally DO go to the bigger color ads first, but if you have a price shopper, then he's going to call everyone no matter what. love, alarris |
