Rep Power: 0 | I just bought a tanning salon for 18,000 It comes with 2 beds that are paid for 2870's with facial bulbs. It also come with 3 upgrades that are leased. A stand up and 2 laydowns by prosun. The lease is paid for free bulb change and maintenance. It is prewired and ready for 3 more beds. It has room in the back which I plan to add a 1 person nail station and 1 person hair station. My question is what are the requirements for the size of the hair station? It will not be inclosed. Or is there anywhere that someone can direct me to that I can get info on codes for adding a hair station in my salon? Thanx.... |

Rep Power: 0 | I had tanning and nails together for several years and it worked fine. We are now solely tanning--better return on investment. Regulations vary from state to state so DO check. Generally it will require a separate license and a salon manager who is licensed. If they are employees you must carry liability insurance on them. If they are renters they must provide their own insurance and proof to you. Lots to consider when doing this--not saying it can't work but do your homework. Good Luck! Pam |

Rep Power: 23 | Make sure the hair station is not too hot or noisy from the tanning equipment. Also, is your stand-up in it's own room? If not, keep the hair station far away from the stand-up. For sure you will need a special sink for hair-washing, the right chair, table, mirror, multiple plug-ins and lots of bright light and room. Product, appliances, and colour take up lots of room too. |

Rep Power: 0 | My husband works in construction and is doing all the research on it. He did get me information to receive my license to run the shop with a hair and nail station. The standup unit is in its own room and its on the other end of the room. The guy selling it to us uses a nail and hair tech in his salon about 15 minutes away and he takes %50 of their income and loves the setup. I know the things I need for a hair station just wasnt sure about code requirements. He found most of the information now though thanx for the help... |
