Name Help please! - tanTALK

I only joined this board yesterday but I think it's great to have somewhere to talk about tanning salons!

I currently own a (small) beauty salon but the main thing that makes the money is the sunbed so in a month I will be changing over to a tanning salon. We also hire videos (as we're open late). Could anybody think of a name that incorporates the 2?

Also, do you charge for missed appointments? I would prefer that a client comes back another day to use the bed rather than losing their custom but it's annoying when there are several no-shows in an evening.

I don't charge for missed apt. if some one is bad about not showing up I wouldn't give them a prime time or my last apt.

I don't understand the "hire videos." Do you mean you rent movies or you take videos such as at a wedding or something.

We dont take appts. for that very reason why have a bed sitting open when you can have it full at all times. Yea sometimes there is a wait but thats when you get people to look & sell them stuff & get to know your customers a little more.

How many beds will you have after you change? I would go with no appointments. We did it 6 months ago and it is wonderful. Just start out that way and no one will know the difference.

It's named after the area it's in - Royersford Park Beauty Salon. I want to get away from that name as it's too long, specially after incorporating tanning and movies in the title!

Just joined this forum today, hope I'm not too late to add to this thread. Sipping coffee and feeling inspired, though I could be merely sleep-walking and just don't realize it. How about these:

- That's Glow Business!
- Big Picture Tans
- Entertainment TANight
- Hot Ticket (subtitle: Movies & Tans)
- Silver Screen & Sun
- Showtime & Tans
- Lights, Camera, Tan! (I think I like this one the best)

or, maybe:
- Chartbusters & Ghostbusters
- Skin Flix
- Watch-n-Tan

err, maybe not. Good luck with your endeavor... hope these might help you some.

How about “EnterTanment” Tanning & Video. I was going to use it but I decided not to change names. I just added “& Video” to the end of my Salon name. I decided not to change names because we’re a LLC and the paperwork and fees were too much.

You can also form the corporation in any name that’s available and make the salon another. The salon could be a subsidiary of the corporation.
