Rep Power: 0 | Hi, I hope I'm in the right section for this. I have a whole bunch of questions and as stupid as they sound... bare with me, I'm serious. First off I bodybuild, and now that I'm getting larger I really hate how pastey I am. I'm one of those really really pale guys you see that looks like a vampire. I also burn fairly easily. Anyhow, I know I'm not goona remember them all, but heres a few... I'm not real keen on going in a tanning bed, so how hard is it just to work up to a decent tan (just so I can take my shirt off and now be repulsively pale) by just laying out in the sun? When laying out, how long should I lay on each side? Should I gradually increase the time I spend in the sun? Is laying out for 3 different 10 minute periods the same as laying out for 30 minutes consecutively? If I burn, what should I do? Can a tan come through even if your getting burnt? How often should I lay out? Everyday? A few times a week? hmm, I'm positive I have more. But could I get some help with these? _________________ [ This Message was edited by: Behemoth on 2003-04-12 15:40 ] |

We can not predict the strength of the sun at any given time so trying to provide time frames for outdoor sun exposure is extremely difficult. If you want to build up a nice level of color, I would suggest that you visit your local indoor tanning salon and alloow them to assist you. This way, you can avoid all of the hazards of burning and get some color all over (don't forget about those legs! ) By the way, if you do start tanning, remember that moisturization is key. Always use a good lotion after any kind of UV exposure and if you do end up burning, you can soothe the pain with aloe vera. JK |

Rep Power: 0 | chk thisout www.tanningtruth.com you cant equate time in a bed to time outdoors..location on globe/enviroment/ozone layer/time of day/weather/clouds..impossible to equate, and never has been done..if you have a hard time tanning outdoors, you WILL NOT tan indoors..best bet, if dark is what you want, go with a spay-on system, THOUGH, I personally find these unhealthy..the DHA chemicals have not been fully tested and Spray-On manufacturers avoid talking of the risk..good luck |
