Tanning Update
Some indoor tanning salons claim that machine made tans are healthful because they protect you from sunburn. "The concept ois erroneous," according to the U.S. Skin Cancer
Foundation. It's clear that overexposure to the ultraviolet rays can cause skin cancer, and tanning may be just as dangerous as burning.
Like the sun, tanning machines emit both ultraviolet-A and ultraviolet-B radiation.
The bottom line: Be wise to salon pitches, shun indoor tanning and protect yourself from the sun when you're outside.
