Experts:
What is the actual UVB% on SPEED 175,205,215 lamps? (they are all compatible with each other, possibly the same lamp?) Wolff will not release this info. They will only say that it is less than 5.0%.

Excellent question. I have the Solaris 42/3F with speed bulbs and wonder how they compare!

UVB% does not mean anything.

If I had to rate the Speed lamps they would be similar to the LSI Morning Sun 2.6% UVB.

I had a real hard time understanding that the UVB output doesn't mean anything when you don't know the total UV output. So one 5.0 lamp is NOT equal to another brand 5.0!!!! I think it took about 10 attempts of people explaining that to me before it sunk in.....maybe I'm just thick headed????

It is confusing. I really want to replace my Speed lamps (175/205) with a lamp that will go some immediate result, as well as delayed like the Speed. Any suggestions from the lamp company experts or a salon owner who has done this already?

Teresa,

5.0% of What? That is what you need to ask.

Lets say that lamp A has a Total Uv output of 30
Lamp B has a Total Uv output of 18.

They can both have 5% UVB.

But guess which one will tan you much better?

I have decided to go with the Light Sources Select.....I have gotten price quotes of $6.00 less per lamp compared to Speed 175! This is a big savings.....and from everything I have read, they will be as good or even better. Sincere thanks for the help,
JTF
