Promotional Items... - tanTALK

We have been talking about Magnets in another posted topic and after looking into the some magnet information I think that it is a great idea! Do any of you have other promotional items that you give out to your customers..to keep your name out there floating around on items?
What do you use as your promo items?
What companies are you using?
When do you give them out?
Do you feel that they help all-around in the marketing of your salon?

I have had pens since the day I opened (10 years ago) and they still are a big hit. In fact, I also do a version for my travel agency now. This summer I did "koozies" which are the foam things that go around the outside of a bottle or can. Those were a big hit as well. Call Amsterdamn Printing for a catalog, 800-833-6231. Tammy

Tammy I used Amsterdamn for my pens as well. I got the purple Chamberlain pens. Big Big hit. very nice upscale looking pen that writes very nice. A little pricey but worth it.

I have thought of the Koozie but was afraid it wouldn't do well. But I may try them soon along with the magnets and pens this year. Dang I should got some in for Christmas goodies.

I really think those koozie's would be a great idea!
I also am interested in getting pens made up! Have you guys done any sort of canvas totes with your name on it for people to carry around their tanning stuff in?...I was thinking of having water bottles made up with my name on it..sell them and when they come in they could fill it from the water cooler...I dont know just ideas...

I haven't done the canvas totes but want to. So many people come in carrying their stuff in a WalMart bag. They might as well carry mine. They would be great to give with a certain $$ lotion purchase.

Hi Pam and Christina,
We have done the heavy plastic with string on top guys dont mind carrying these canvas bags might get to dirty or faded as washed and guys aren't going to carry a purse looking thing just my 2cents we use them for everything. Our logo looks great on them and no more walmart bags Dee

I did do the totes one year. I didn't give them away, a little to pricey for that. I will not do them again, very few people would actually purchase them. And the ones that did buy them carried them for a while but I never see them anymore.
