Rep Power: 28 | I got this flyer in the mail today. go to http://www.pocketspec.com to check it out. What ya think Don and Steve? Didn't Steve mention something like this a few days ago? Would this really work? $300 is a lot of money for a trinket. _________________ Proud supporter of Don's Army Mitzi [ This Message was edited by: Mitzi on 2002-10-22 12:46 ] |

Rep Power: 26 | Mitzi: I received a brochure on the PocketSpec and it looks interesting. To date I haven't had the time to get one and try it. I'm not sure how you would compare tanned skin with untanned skin but I could probably figure out a way. Don |

Rep Power: 0 | Mitzi, you are so wrong it's scary. That unit is about to revolutionize the tanning industry (well, almost). There will not be one PROFFESSIONAL tanning salon out there without one by the middle of next year. e-mail me and I'll explain, but for now, let's leave the "average" salons out of the loop. |

Rep Power: 23 | Quote: ________________________________________ _____________ The PocketSpec TM works with all skin colors as well because it checks the tone of the skin based on reflectivity - not color. ________________________________________ _____________ Does this meen the "sheen" or gloss level of various lotions would affect the readings? If so, initial and subsequent readings would need to be "lotion free" dry skin. |

Rep Power: 0 | No, the sheen or shine has nothing to do with the reading. We've been involved with this unit for over a month now, sold out the first shipment within 10 days and am now (right after I finish this note,)ordering my third batch. Steve, I meant to wait until Nashville to talk to you and Don about this unit. I really believe that it will be a huge boon to the industry ad see each and every PROFESSIONAL salon owning at least one. The $300.00 special price (reg.$ 399.95)is so cheap for what this unit can do. |

Rep Power: 23 | Mori - well that sounds encouraging. In the auto industry we tried about every kind of colorimeter in existance for matching dissimilar types of interior materials. At that time none could match the human eye, mostly due to gloss differences. But this is a different application: comparing "new" white skin to levels of built-up tan skin. Kinda like new lamps vs aged lamps with a UV meter only the opposite result! |
