Does anyone have great tips for promoting a tan year-round to their customers? What salon tips can you offer?

We have touched on this in the Ask Don forum a bit. But as for a set way to do it we have not. Local press releases would be good, I think, amoung other things...

Anyone have ideas?

We run different specials like starting in September I will have buy 2 months get 3rd month free, buy 1 month get 2nd month 1/2 off,and buy 1 month get 2nd month free. I will do this until about the 2nd week in December and this has always worked great with us. I always put the buy 1 get 1 free until the last because alot of people had already bought the other 2 so they already have a package and will not get this one. These packages do have a experation date on them.

Our salon is running great "tan through the end of the year" specials on monthly packages, with prices so low they just can't pass it up, and they expire right about the time our busy season will (hopefully!) kick in!Our one year anniversary is Nov.1, and along with advertising our anniversary specials, we plan on incorporating the S.A.D./uv light angle into our ad, maybe even do an editorial piece on that very subject in our local newspaper.

yes offer half price packages when you buy a package it keeps them comming back and also it makes them purchase ahead of time also
its working for me

We have a coupon on a local grocery store's printed recepits...We so far have had a good return on them but the true test is to see if they come back! Some people love those coupons and just salon jump to get a deal, so we will see in a few months if the total investment was worth it due to repeat customers.
We also have in-store specials Buy 2 months get 1 free on any unit...$5.00 off any package of 5, 10 or 15 session packages...So far these both have been selling very well

Do you find you make more money discounting package deals versus adding a a tan or two instead. I never discount my prices. Will add a tan or two to a package or lotion purchase. Just curious...

I have never tried the adding of sessions to a package,
Is this how you would advertise that special....
For instance you sell "Buy 5 get 2 Free"???

I have been running a very special priced unlimited through the end of the year. It did okay but I really don't think I got more tanners than would have just kept buying packages all year. They just got a great deal.

Maybe I picked up 2-3 that would have stopped until Feb.
