WHAT IS YOUR FEATURED OR FOCUS PRODUCT LINE?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does your salon have a brand of indoor tanning products that you have focused your sales efforts around or do you simply have products and brands on the shelf hoping that all of them will sell?

Do you have a strategy to what you are stocking or are you buying indoor tanning products randomly adding them to your shelves?

The feature or focus product line is the one you have selected to sell the most. It’s the one at eye level on your shelves, it’s the one when tanners ask. “What should I use?” You say I recommend you use ...... it’s the one our staff uses exclusively!

What factors should you consider when deciding on a line to feature or focus on?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Is it a premium quality product that has proven performance in your salon?
* It is a complete product line with a variety of formulas and price points for all types of tanners?
* Does it’s packaging appeal to your customers?
* Can you make 200% or more profits when you sell it?
* Will other salons be able to sell this product line as well?
* Will my tanners find this line on the Internet or at beauty suppliers, flea markets, retail stores, business without
tanning beds, resorts or other diversion locations?
* Does it have posters and other educational materials to support the product line?
* How quickly can I get inventory?

Take some time to think about the products you stock and if you should feature one product line in your salon.

We have a monthly focus product. It is not a specific line. And, it is not always an indoor tanning lotion. Sometimes it is a facial tanning product, after-tan moisturizer , etc.

We have two lines that we carry continually. They do very well with repeat sales. Everything else is rotated.

We focus on Soakin' products. They have accounted for 2/3 of our sales this season. I have tried to become very informed about the products and also teach my staff which is easy with the free materials that are provided by Greg. You can 'talk' someone into buying any product once. The real test comes when they run out of that bottle...what do they choose? Our customers have consisently bought more Soakin' Up the Rays products. Thanks Greg.

We have selected several products from 5 different manufacturers. We definately carry more Cal Tan than any other line but I do not try to sell more of any one than another, although I, like everyone, else has my favorites. Every one of my employees has their favorite and that is what they tend to sell the most of. As long as they are selling quality products that customers are satisfied with I really don't care which one it is.

Re: Do you have a featured or focus product line?

We have a lotion of the week, but usually all of our employees sell more of their favorite lotion than anything else.

Re: Do you have a featured or focus product line?

^^^what he said. We all sell the most of what we use. From Love Monkey to Firewalker, to Sugar Shack. Customers come in and ask, "What do you use?"

Maybe I should make all my employees use Crystal :)
