If you are a multiple salon owner, how do you use each of your salons to promote another? Do any of your salons actually compete with each other?

One of the reasons we purchased salon #2 was because of the tremendous growth in the area. Many people from that area had moved away from salon #1, but not vice versa. We will take advantage of this phenomena by promoting #2 through #1 by continuing/enhancing our referral program, thereby linking the two. We will not allow dual membership, but will work on a transfer program for members who may find themselves migrating towards #2. Thoughts, suggestions?

How about doing like Mike and network to 2 salons together. This way, a member could use their visits at either salon. I don't know about your equipment mix, but perhaps Jane might like one particular bed at #1 and another at #2. Then she could go from salon to salon depending on what part of the town she is in.

Mitzi, this is definitely in the plans for the future. Right now, all funding is going into upgrading equipment and remodeling the salon.

Also, I'm leary of using software that Helios is not supporting. I'm continuing to research other software options.

I agree with the Helios statement. They are not supporting 10, and a WAN network can be quite complicated. If you do use this product in the future and utilize the WAN capabilities, be sure to have a good networking person on call. (these guys are expensive) If anybody ever gets the technology to work seamlessly, it will be great for all of us.
