Rep Power: 25 | I have found that my employees will work harder for a "prize" than they will to add to their commission check. They could care less that they added $10 or $20 to their check but boy they "won" that Dairy Queen Blizzard. Does anyone else give little prizes for short term goals and do your employees fight for them???? They are crazy but if it works I'll keep giving $2 prizes every few days!!!! |

Rep Power: 25 | LOL It dawned on me also just this year! It seems if it is a tangible prize, they are so much more enthusiastic! I wish I would have known that a couple of years ago! I trade gift certificates with Bennigans, for us to give to our employees as incentive bonuses. and it works better and doesn't cost me, plus I get more clients! |

Rep Power: 25 | I really get small things, DQ blizzard, dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, car wash tokens, etc. and challenge each employee every once in a while. Such as sell X dollars tonight win a prize, or put store vs store whichever store sells most between 4-8 those 2 get a prize, I have 6 employees work their butts of for the prize. |

Rep Power: 23 | They are to a point, I try to also instill sell a hot lotion to a red head on your recommendation because they cost more. Is not what I expect. I wrote a post on this... "leaving money on the table isn't always a bad thing" A while back on this subject. The clients trust is important for repeat sales. I encourage them by incetitives I did a win a dorm safe for my college students for the highest lotion sales over the summer (May-July)the year I started .. it went over well. Now I use the highest LPPA gets first chioce of hours, and bonus commision, and a prize here and there. This is working out great. Mj |

Rep Power: 25 | I hear you MJ, you are right don't sell the wrong lotion just because it costs more. Sometimes I do use $$$ in sales. Other times I use who can add on the most moisturizers & lip balms. Or just the # of bottles sold. I try to change it around all of the time so they don't lose interest. Really I just like to make more work for myself figuring out who won) |

Rep Power: 23 | that's the key..... to keep it simple. Generate competition and sales by giving them something easy to focus on. # of samples sold # of bottles sold total $$ of bottles sold # of after-tan bottles sold # of upgrades sold whatever........... it's all about presentation. I am always asked EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO INTO THE SALON, "do you need lotion or goggles?" I always say "yes" to the goggles and that's it.... But if someone were to present it a different way, "wow, your color is really coming along. Have you tried Brand X's tingle/accelerator/bronzer/ moisturizer /whatever, I think it would really make a difference" I would probably bite.... Give them something simple to focus on. ("Sell everyone a sample today") You will be delighted with the results and they will be so excited to have a little "competition". |

Rep Power: 0 | I give my employees 5% on ea. bottle of lotion they sell. So if the bottle is 50.00 they get 2.50 Although this adds up it makes them want to sell more. However they only get commission on upgrade beds and HP beds, for example on of my beds is 20.00 a session I give them a dollar for every session they sell. They love it. My top seller made over 500.00 dollars this month in commission alone. It is amazing. If you really want to make it interesting put your name in the computer too. See if your employees can sell more than you. I promise you would be surprised. |

Rep Power: 23 | I am having problems with my employees. We started a new program and it has worked great but they are fighting over who cleans the beds and who works the counter. Now we have to rotate 1 hour on the computer and an hour off the computer. They get 5% commision for every bottles they sell up to 25 bottles when they reach 25 they now get 10% on all bottle that they have sold. We also have a mystery number every 2 weeks. If they meet it they get a prize. $20 to Burgerville or car washes, etc. But they all want to be at the counter to sell and it is getting very competitive. Help any ideas? |

Rep Power: 0 | The only fair way to do it is to totally split the commission or totally split the shift. For a while we were giving them equal bed and computer shifts, but that didn't work because invariably there will always be someone that says that it's unfair because "yesterday" was soooo much busier than "today". YOU have to separate the duties and tell THEM what times and shifts that they will have computer access and what times they will clean beds. If not, they will always spat over the computer. -Tommie- |
