Rep Power: 0 | This is my first year as owner of a salon, any suggestions for lotion sales, without being to pushy.I would like to increase lotion sales but not sure how. Any suggestion would be great. I have a "cheap" client market. |

Rep Power: 23 | Buy gallons and sell sample cups so they can try it cheaply first time around. Have starter packs that include lotion, eyewear, and month for xx dollars. Tell them it takes more sessions to achieve their goal without lotion, and that they need to keep their skin moist if they are going to apply heat. |

Rep Power: 25 | My favorite question to ask cleints is not do you need lotion but "what lotion are you using when you tan today?" It's not a yes or no answer makes them either show you one or tell you they are not and that opens a whole avenue for you to tell them why it is important for them to use lotion. |

Rep Power: 25 | hey, I like that line!!! I have one employee who uses the line "ever had a margarita without the tequila....just like tanning without lotion....it's just missing something". Your line would be more appropriate in my #3 salon (demographics a little more conservative) than my partying college neighborhood of salon #1 [ This Message was edited by: riotanmanager on 2002-01-13 21:26 ] |

Rep Power: 25 | These are some great ideas! My goal is to sell much more lotions this year. And I have to work on my selling abilities as much as anyone. I don't go for the pushy sell, but that lotion is a necessity to tanning. Will offer incentives this year also for higher lotion sales. |

Rep Power: 23 | Everyone has cheap clients, but never think that they won't pay because they WILL. Start by asking your best clients if they would like to try some of YOUR lotion. Make them think that you are a nice guy,and let them try it ONCE for free. Most people won't want to go thru the hassle of asking to use it next time, they will usually just ask you how much it costs. Offer a couple of tans with the expensive ones. This is what we do and it works very well for us. |

Rep Power: 23 | We normally start them out on the lower priced lotions. Most of them are willing to part with $25 or less. Once we get them using lotions, and they see the benefits of it, they begin to want to try new things. That's when they finally move up to something more expensive. |
