I have operated and owned a 12 bed salon for the last 7 years. I have plans to build a new, hopefully state of the art tanning salon. I would like to get other operators ideas as to how and what equiment you would install. Also, I am thinking of going with at least 20 beds (stand-up and laydown) Our last salon used all the same beds, this time we are thinking of mix equiment. (24 lamp, 48 lamp vhr, etc.) What are your thought on that?

Get your mix of beds and booths that you prefer. Everyone has different tastes. Would be hard to tell you what to get. I personally like UWE and Dr. Muellar. Have heard lots of good things about other brands but havne't tanned in them.

Mitzi is right. A different mix is good. But we all have different tastes. You want to have totally different beds than the salon down the street. Some distributors have great beds, but not so great stand-ups. You really have to check them out. Go tan in the ones you think you want.
Find out what you don't want and go from there.

Must - Be careful what you use as your entry level beds. In my area most entry level beds are 32 and up.

My entry level is 34 lamps, which I think is to many lamps for entry level and only charging $5.50.
