Does anyone have any weird employee rules or procedures??

My employees find this rule ro be really weird, and it came about because everyone smokes in here, and it is in my employee handbook.

Rule number 6- if you go out to smoke you must come back in and either brush your teeth or use breath freshener, no employee can have smoke breath when dealing with a customer.

Now as far as my weird procedure..

Every employee gets a clear plastic box in that box are pens, pencils, a hole puncher, tape and a calculator,and listerine pocket packs these are all color coded to match the box (the dollar store is a great place to find this stuff) each employee keeps there box in the employee room and they must bring it to the front counter with them at the beginning of their shift,

I started this because I was sick of the employees saying I cant find the tape or calculator, well now every employee has their own, and if someone tries to get slick and take something they are missing out of another box, it's color coded so we know, also now employees have a placve to keep pens they like to use, or pencils, and noone takes them

I knew jumping that rope was gonna do damage. LOL the smoking thing is a good idea, but the color coded boxes?

Actually I think that you have very good ideas on using the box of items that they will need through out the day. Especially the mouthwash.

see everything in the box matches the color of the box, i am clear, tino is aqua, and marlena is pink. They each have their own calculator hole punch, tape, pens, pencils, highlighters, and they keep some of their own stuff in there as well, that way everyone is responsible for their own box.

It's kinda weird but I like it. I am very particular about stuff like that too especially when I am looking for the tape and NO ONE seems to know where it went!

Don't know if I have any wierd rules or procedures...just very anal about everything! Towels must be folded perfectly, towels and goggles must be placed on same exact spot in room every time, don't leave your supper fork on the desk....the list goes on!!

See and I thought that I was the only one who required the towels to be folded the exact same way and size every time..lol

All employees must pass a strict towel folding exam before being hired. Ha ha ha!

I recently overheard another employee telling a new one that the way they folded the towels was wrong! "Stacey wants them done this way..." Ha ha ha!

I can get really mean if the girls don't set the bottle and the sanitize sign in the middle (not the head or bottom) of the bed. I also tend to make a fuss over the towels. We roll ours and the girls have left me many what I will call "Burritos" (big fat ugly roll).

Boy am I glad I am not the only one who is anal about things!

I have a certain way to fold towels even at home and I get very irritated when people move things around on my desk. The stapler goes there, the tape goes there, etc....
Everything in my closet is facing the same way and it is sectioned. Short sleeves here, long sleeves underneath. Dresses here, then slacks etc...

I had already decided that everyone had to smoke out back of the salon...not in the front. (I don't want customers to walk through a cloud of smoke to come into the store) But I really like the idea of breath mints! I will be adding that to my list!!

I like things the way I like them and I don't like it when others don't follow my rules! (my kids tell me I am too weird about things!)

Ditto on the towel folding thing! We have a class called Towel Folding and Placement 101. And the sheets have to be rolled for the HP bed, thus Sheet Rolling 101.
