Rep Power: 23 | I am a brand new owner, haven't even opened my doors yet. I am stressing myself out about how to organize my paperwork. I understand that I have to log on each customer when they come in and how long they tan. My concern is during the busy season, how in the world will I keep up with it and still be able to do anything else? Where can I get good tips and advice? Thanks shallee |

Rep Power: 23 | When I first started managing LeBronze 4 years ago we were not computerized and we still managed to run a smooth operation during the busy season. But I will say that the computer saves some much time for you and your clients. |

Rep Power: 23 | LeBronze, How long did you stay with a paper system & how long did it take to get switched over to a computerized system?? I am still doing everything on paper, but have Suntouch installed, but have not gotten it down yet! Maybe it's me, but I think it's hard to get set up...guess I need to get more serious about learning it. I am just afraid to put my beds on it & have the computer go down or something. Thanks, Deb |

Rep Power: 23 | Yes, I was going to try this without a computer. Most of my money has gone toward making this a nice salon, so I have very little left over. Is it worth the money (that I don't have) to go ahead and install some type of software? shallee |

Rep Power: 24 | Shallee, Helios will give you their softwear for free as long as you pay $30 a month for maintenance. I personally have had the computer since I opened it just makes it so much easier, and helios is so easy to use and program. |

Rep Power: 23 | Do any of you also keep a copy of your daily sales records on paper as well as on the computer? How do you safe guard against a hard drive failure, virsus messing things up, etc? How do you back up your files and financial data? |

Rep Power: 0 | We will be opening soon. (I hope) I plan on printing daily reports and keeping them in my office at home. It is nice to have access to records on the computer but I like having printouts to refer back to. (I'm kind of anal about keeping paperwork) We have our computer setup to automatically back up our data each night after closing. We will be keeping a weekly backup offsite. (in case of fire) If the system crashes, we will be able to reload our database with a minimal of re-entering data. |

Rep Power: 23 | We have Helios and do back up regularly, for us and also because Texas is regulated. We must keep files going back 3 years. On a day to day basis, I couldn't imagine trying to keep up on paper. Many distributors sell computers, perhaps you could find one affordable and/or financing for it? |
