Do any of you use Punch Cards at your salon? Customers receive a card and after a designated # of punches, receives a free tan or a discount on lotion product?

Do you punch the holes with a special puncher? If not, anybody could punch the holes out themself. Or you could use an ink stamp of some sort.

The person that is using these has a salon employee initial the "punch" each time. I suspose that you could date the punch and verify this with the customers record.

I have seen decorative "punches" at wal mart, would be great to find one that looked like a sun.

Any other thoughts?

we tried that with the video store the first year,,,, bad idea. i keep buying diff. designed punches and it still didn't work very well. do you use cusotmer cards or are you completely computer? You could keep up with the visits either way and then give them a freebie

I use punch cards and they work very well.

I made the first test batch to see if they would work on my own computer, and when they did I had my printer make them up for me.

They are regular business card size white business cards with black ink and a yellow sun behind the salon name. They say the salon name address and phone number, and have 10 spaces for punches. The punch I use looks like a 3 leaf clover, and I have me employees inital the punch. On the back of the card it states Every time you buy a single session you get a punch, on your tenth punch you receive a free session in any bed and a new card. then there is a line for the date the card was issued.

Now if you use a computer in your salon it's not that hard to see if the customer cheated on their card, if the card says it was issued on 9/15/01 and today is 10/06/01 you can just check to see if they have purchased the required amount. I haven't had anyone cheat on them.

You can do these for whatever, single sessions, dollar amonuts , packages, lotion purchases.
