Rep Power: 0 | As I stood in one of the lines at the ITA show this past weekend, I had a young lady that owns a small salon in Fla. ask me my opinion on standup units. She has had alot of customers request one but when she put this question to the test, most were not too excited about a standup any longer. "Would you enjoy standing versus laying during the tanning time"? Alot of customers enjoy the rest and relaxation of laying in a tanning unit.We have at least one standup unit in each of our 5 resorts. At first, yes, customers seem to back away from the 15 minute stand off, however, once they have experienced it and listening to the music to pass the time it does not seem as long. Our biggest clientele for our standups are men. We do have several who only want the standup whether their reasons are medical or personal our standup units are a "BIG" asset!!Let me hear your thoughts and experiences on this subject!------------------Tracie WilliamsSandollar Corporation |

Rep Power: 24 | Stand up tanning systems are becoming more popular, but I also agree that most people still prefer the bed to relax. Most of the people that use our Sun Capsule (10 min.) do so because of time or to help get rid of some of the tan lines that they get. We are going to add another stand up due to demand but also adding more beds as well.Mike------------------Take A Trip To The Coast...Palm Coast Tann mike@palmcoasttann.com |

Rep Power: 0 | Our stand-up is quite popular with men and with the mid-day crowd. Persons tanning on their lunch-break like it because they don't get as sweaty as they do lying on the acrylics. And, at 10 minutes it is also the fastest bed that we have. |

Rep Power: 24 | Here is my 2 cents worth...We have a 60 lamp, 9 minute Sun Capsule. It has pulled in alot of clients seeing as how none of our competitors had anything close (and still don't), but if I had it to do over again, I am not sure I would do it. I would have to give it some hard thought. We do more work on this unit than we do all the rest combined. Last year about this time we bought a 52 lamp Celsius/Tanses bed with a tan time of 7 minutes and it is a dream come true. No problems except 1 bad starter. It does about 5 to 1 compared to the booth, sometimes even more. There are always going to be some people that absolutely MUST HAVE a booth, but each salon has to weigh out the pros and cons for them. EVERY AREA IS DIFFERENT! What works for you may not work for me and vice versa. Personally, I love to relax and tan, not stand.Good luck and Happy Tanning! |
