How do you do it? Set appointments or just 1st come 1st serve.. And how does it work for you? What is the best?

we can tan so many people with our 10 min. sessions that we never need appointments,we have enough booths so that people can walk right in a tan without any wate 99% of the time.If it gets that people have to wate on the rare occasion more then 5 min. we will buy another booth.

ya i do!You can also buy second hand 1/4 the price if you can see and try the booth before you buy it! I did that with the last wolff booth!What a savings!!!!!!!I got it for 1/4 of the selling price and it only had 500 hours on it. That was only the time for 1 lamp change!!!! WOOO HOOO Looks And works like new!!!!!!

How many booths do you have and how many tanners on average day during busy time.I have 7 basic beds, 5 upgrade beds, and 1 booth, I stay full in busy season, but the booth sits idle. gets maybe 5 people per daybut i must mention it is an older booth and not the new hi-tech like out today.[ July 11, 2001: Message edited by: buntanner ]

Right now I do walk-ins only. When busy season hits I'll take appointments too. This past busy season I took appointments on 2 beds & the rest were walk-ins. Most of my clients prefer to just walk-in.

I do appointments and walk-ins. I keep one bed open for walk-ins and the rest appointments. It gets alittle crazy here, and the phone is ringing off the hook, but I'm the only salon in town that does appointments and the clients like to know that they can get in and out pretty quick. I don't have that many beds so at peak hours, knowone really wants to wait a long period of time for a bed. Trick is to be organized and have a great bed cleaner.

We take appointments and do walkins. My regulars know when its slow season, but they still call for an appoinment even though they know we can probably get them in. During busy season I HAVE to take appointments because we only have one basic 20 min. bed.

If you have 8+ beds appointments should not be an option. The time you save by not having to answer phone will show up in retail sales. Those who refuse to change will be left in the dust.
