While reading one of the tanning magazines I came up with an idea. They were mentioning using a survey to poll your customers. There are some things that I would like to find out. I was thinking I would ask for them to fill out a poll and especially when I gave them a discount on product or services. We offer first time tanners to one of our resort the ability to tan for $4 versus the normal $7. I could approach these new customer saying that we could discount their first visit by $3 if they would complete this quick survey! Sounds like a winner to me.

Some people will say yes and fill it out but just put in junk, just to get the $ off.I know I have done this on contests.

Chippp, thank goodness people such as yourself represent the minority of the world's population...Michael, I think that's an excellent idea.. go for it!

Automobile manufacturers have used surveys for years to grade dealership sales and service. It has been effective in the sense that dealerships seem to try harder not to lose customers, but they still struggle with the demands the manufacturers place on them. It is an excellent idea for tanning salons, but you will get the occasional customer checking off the questions just to get "freebies".

if they don't fill it out accurately you should yell at them and give them another chance, then if they do it again, kick them out of your salon, and tell them that you "hate" them. Ignore me.It is true though, that some people will just fill it in and make up answers just to get a discount. They might be less inclined to if you are standing there watching them.solid

I do some polling through my email newsletter and for the most part people take it serious

we are in the process of sending out our first survey. I will let you know what kind of response I get. I am only sending it to the 300 + members, this way I can measure the results a bit easier. Next survey will go to all tanners.
