Word of mouth is always a wonderful selling tool!! We have a referral program that has truly been our most successful marketing plan. Coupons are great, Direct mail is a big hit,ads work some, and believe me we have tried it all. However, noting works like having customers whom trust you work for you. They are literally a walking display! Our referral program is a card that we give to every customer that walks in the door. They can have as many as they want and we ask each customer each day "How are they doing with referrals cards and if they need more". This card has two offers: 1) Offers a "new" customer a free visit2) Offers $10.00 off our membership feeWhen a new member joins the existing customer that referred them receives $20.00 "Sandollar's" (Bonus Bucks) this being inhouse credit they can use towards upgrades, product purchase's, etc. Our customer's love this program and appreciate the opportunity to participate! ------------------Tracie WilliamsSandollar Corporation

If an existing customer on a days or visits package want to join our membership we either allow them to use the $10.00 off coupon (which we also run with local yellow pages) or we waive the startup fee totally. You will find that the referal program is one of the best selling tools around. It helps your current customer and the new one as well.

I agree with Tonya and Anthony. Customers are more willing to tell their friends about your salon if they are getting something back in return.
