Rep Power: 0 | We have certainly learned the Smart Tan rules of tanning. Regardless of how aware and responsible you are in regulating your customers time based on their skin type occasionally you will have a customer to burn during their tanning session. We like to be prepared! Each one of our salons keep "Insurance" samples at their front desk prepared to offer that customer a free sample to soothe the discomfort. This just reiterates our concern for our customers but then also it allows our customers to experience a new product that could be useful at home as well as the salon.------------------Tracie WilliamsSandollar Corporation |

Rep Power: 26 | Tracie:If you are not subtyping (especially for skin type 2's) you should consider doing so. For instance, skin subtype 2A's have only a 10% margin of error. A two minute mistake with these individuals will allow them to sun burn.Pat & I designed the original Smart Tan skin typing form (without subtypes) and we moved on to the current questionnaire that allows you to subtype about 18 months ago. You will be pleasantly surprised with the results of subtyping and your clients will appreciate your attention to detail. One thing we have learned. Whenever a client comes in (usually a college student) and says that they sun burned, we question them about whether or not they have (1) gone to another tanning salon on the same day, and, (2) tanned outdoors. Usually they will tell you that they also layed out on the sorority house roof for an hour or two! If you know the facts, you can better evaluate whether or not your exposure schedule is correct.Hope this helps.Don |
