Lets see how this works;Moderators are supposed to keep the forums churning with NEW topics.When said moderator draws a blank, is it kosher to bump old topics?I personally place a little value on my time, yes even that which I waste on-line, and I get a little agitated when I find a series on "seemingly new" topics, that have just been "bumped". Don't hand me any excuses that it's for then benefit of new readers, when I was new I read every message available on the only site that I knew of, the old Suntanning.com, prior to this site and TanToday's existance.Am I the only one that objects to this practice?Ed Reynolds

The practice can be overused. I have seen some points on this site where it has been. But in general tons of new people visit this site everyday. There are a lot of good topics that are "old". I don't see anything wrong with bumping a couple topics that haven't been replied to in a month for the newcomers to read and reply to.All the sites do it. We do encourage our moderators to "think" and not only bump up old topics.I will mention to our moderators to limit the number of topics they bump, because you are right, it is too easy, an I can understand that you wouldn't want to keep seeing the same old topics.solid

Ed, sometimes it is a topic that really needs to be "bumped" for someone may be actually looking for a topic of that nature and can't find it. there are good reasons for bumping

Mitzi, that is why Solid activated the search feature and anyway if / when a newbie comes on it is usually in their best interest to look over the oldies. But then I've already said that, haven't I? In my opinion there is ONLY ONE GOOD excuse for a bump, thtat's if it is of a timely and important nature. What I've seen recently has not been that important let alone be of a timely nature.
