Rep Power: 0 | Thanks for responding to my question. I have my salon ready and am just waiting on a delivery date for my equipment. You mentioned tanning publications, how do I get those? I am interested in reading anything I can find. Congratulations on opening your salon in June. Did things go smoothly? I'm very excited but also very nervous. Thanks again and any other information you want to pass on is certainly welcome. |

Rep Power: 25 | Jenny,No things did not go smoothly! I talked to my electrician about the voltage coming into the beds & asked did I need buck reducers to bring the voltage down. He told me there would be no need for that. (He has a very large company & claimed to have worked with tanning salons before & he was the President of the company.) So I thought everything was cool with the voltage. WRONG! I ran my beds at too high voltage for a short time before finding out they had done nothing to lower the voltage. I had to have buck reducers made & the guy that built them pulled the voltage to the minimum required & the beds quit tanning people. Then I had to get an electrician to change some wires & up them where they would work like they were suppose to! Because I ran on too high voltage, I've had to replace 3 beds with new lamps with less than 200 hours on them. That was my biggest nightmare! I'm just glad I didn't open in February. You need some time before busy season hits to work everything out.Good Luck!Ginger |

Rep Power: 0 | Congrats Jenny! Welcome to the wonderful world of tanning! To answer your question re: Publications, Tanning Trends, Looking Fit, Sun Wellness, and Todays Image were offering with the coupon free subscriptions at the Nashville show. If you give them a call and let them know you missed that offer they may extend that offer to you.I hope that everything goes well for you. This is a great board to get assistance and information. Please don't hesitate to ask any question. NO QUESTION IS A DUMB QUESTION!------------------Tracie WilliamsSandollar Corporation |
