What are some other ideas you have for off season revenues?Does anyone have a hottub/spa in their salon and if so, what are the health dept. regulations?

Has anyone ever thought of offering hair wraps?? You know the things where they wrap a stand of hair in brightly colored yarn and then dangle beads and charms at the end?

The hair wrap idea is awesome! Nobody at all does that here and I always see it done away. I wonder how hard it is to do? Perhaps I could learn and teach staff how to do it?Great idea!! Stacey

Schools about to start, how about those woven backpacks? Teen and college age girls LOVE these bags...and what about some homecoming type items? Dressy barrettes, ties, clips, earrings?

excellent idea, get stuff for the upcoming school activities. sell them tanning pkgs. and some great accessories to wear with that great tan.

Hair wraps are not that difficult to do at all. They can be a little time consuming, but the revenue generated by it is usually worth it... in this type of setting it's done by appointment only like you would do a nail tech... so you wouldn't be wasting man hours on someone sitting there with nothing to do. In some places it's offered on certain days of the week only too, like Fri, Sat and Sun.

This is a great idea, just so happens my nail tech is a lic. hairdresser also. Maybe she would be interested in doing this

It's not that difficult at all to do... and usually it's done by real "free thinking" people... you know the ones! Creativity is the key... and if you get someone who doubles in two capacities learning how to do it (which takes all of an hour)... they get faster with time. I had five friends who wrapped hair one summer and they were really good at it!
