Tanning lotion for treated tinea versicolor Any good recommendations? After the person has treated it, either via topicals or pills from doctor. There's some debate as to whether tingles should be avoided, as they can aggravate this, via bringing the yeast farther up the epidermis (causing the problem again after treatment). They also help "hard to tan" spots though. Then, non DHA vs DHA - in the short term, DHA in my opinion is better in terms of a satisfied customer (it won't look as obvious initially) but it doesn't mean the spots are actually more tanned. I've only been in business a few months and wanted to know if anyone with more experience had some advice on this. This time of year, you have people with fading summer tans (who had treated tinea versicolor) but the color had not caught up yet to baseline. |
Re: Tanning lotion for treated tinea versicolor No tingles. They can use a dandruff shampoo at home to treat it. it is a yeast we all have in our skin, heat makes it active in some people. |
Re: Tanning lotion for treated tinea versicolor Yes, but I was wondering what types of lotions to recommend after it has been treated, or if anyone knows of a good lotion to help catch up the overall color. The lighter spots do take time to catch up. DHA is going to help the lighter spots catch up in the short-term, but it won't mean they are more tanned. Non-DHA will give a better idea if they are actually being tanned, but could take longer to notice as well. |
Re: Tanning lotion for treated tinea versicolor There is no best or specific lotion out there. The tanner will either need to stop tanning for some time to heal the spots, tanning & the heat from the beds can deter the spots from even catching up. Lotion wether it be a bronzer or a non bronzer isn't going to help the spots catch up necessarily because even if the spots have been treated they need to heal up on their own. Have them try to stop tanning for the spots to fade and totally heal up,or use a self tanner with DHA. |
