Rep Power: 0 ![]() | A New Ingredient called "MelaINK"...anyone know what this is...??? Hi Everyone !!! Long time no talk...I hope you ALL had a great summer !!! I have noticed a new ingredient in a few lotions, so far I have seen it in a few of Designer Skin's 2012 lotions...it's called " MelaINK". When I Googled it, it just gave me web sites for the lotions that have it in it BUT I did read smewhere, I don't remember where, but that " MelaINK " is DHA in it's "purest" form, and I'm guessing that would make for an Indoor Tanning Lotion to help the person get a very dark tan but dark mainly from the DHA, not from the skins actual melanin, but combined with the skins natural tan from it's prduction of melanin from exposure to the UV rays in the Tanning Beds / Booths plus the " Strong DHA " in it, IF that is actually what " MelaINK " is "... " Pure DHA " because the lotions that have " MelaINK" in them ALSO have DHA and Erythrulse...so WHY 2 types of DHA IF in fact " MelaINK" is " Pure DHA " ...??? Has anyone seen this " MelaINK " in any lotions other than Designer Skin...??? I'm pretty sure that the DS Lotins with the " MelaINK " in them also have at least ONE form or several forms of TYROSINE in them to help a person acheive a deep, dark tan and then with regular use, 2-3-4 Tanning sessions a week, IF the " MelaINK " is Pure DHA, then I would imagine that after repeated use, wouldn't the " MelaINK", I don't know how to word this, if "MelaINK" actually IS DHA in it's " Purest " form, wouldn't it get the skin " darker " than the actual tan from the UV rays from the Tanning Beds / Booths. I think it would be like using a Sunless Tanning Lotion made for Medium-Dark skin tones PLUS Indoor Tanning in the Tanning Beds/Booths at the same time...??? I always liked using Indoor Tanning Lotions with bronzers, but not for everyone of my Tanning sessions ( After I developed my " Base Tan ", I would use a Bronzing Lotion until I reached my desired color, then I would alternate between an Accelerating Lotion and a Bronzing Lotion to maintain my tan because the " bronzers ", not the "instant " bronzers like the Caramel, Black Walnut Shell Extract etc... but the DHA and Erythrulose helped my tan from the Tanning Beds look a little deeper and darker but they never got my skin darker than my " Natural " tan from the Tanning Beds, they helped to enhance the color of my tan, but as I said, they never got my skin darker than my skins melanin exposed to the UV rays "tan" from the Tanning Beds....did that make any sense...??? ANYWAY...Any and ALL replies will be greatly appreciated as always AND any comments IF anyone has used a DS Lotin with the " MelaINK " ingredient in it...I know that Designer Skin's " Black Dahlia ", " Black Noir " and " Love Potion No 3 " ALL have " MelaINK " in them" !!! I hope you all enjoy your Sundays, the last weekend of our "Official " Summer... ALL MY BEST !!! Ricky :)

I'm not sure if i can help, but my understanding is that "MelaINK" is just what they call the bronzer in the lotion. It is the "purest form of DHA 'Designer Skin' has ever put in their lotions." Not necessiarly the purest form of DHA b/c that would be DHA itself..... So yes you could say it is a duel bronzer as in DHA (sunless) is the MelaINK as well as it is a tanning lotion. You are correct on all accounts. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: A New Ingredient called "MelaINK"...anyone know what this is...??? I called Designer Skin today and if I understood the woman I spoke to and acccording to her, " MelaINK " is a patented ingredient owned by DS and it is supposed to help " activate" the skins melanin quicker than Tyrosine, resulting in a faster, deeper, darker tan... I asked her if it is like a " super powered form of Tyrosine " and she said " That's a good way to put it " ...I asked if there was Tyrosine in it and she said it's one of those things they can't " reveal " ...??? but that it is indeed has the properties of Tyrosine in activating the melanin when the skin is exposed to the UV Rays from tanning beds and natural sunlight. I know other Indoor Tanning Lotion brands have their own " patented " ingredients in them, I just can't think of any at this time. I, personally, am glad to hear it is not more DHA in the lotions because too much DHA can make a " tan " look fake and also possibly give that "orange-ish color" to it. Just something I thought some of you might be interested in. Have a great weekend !!! Ricky :)
